I am a senior compliance, risk and data protection professional with more than 20 years’ experience across financial services, consumer credit, insurance distribution, asset services and technology-enabled businesses. Throughout my career, I have helped organisations translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, proportionate and commercially realistic solutions. I established Bentley Hamilton Compliance Consultancy in 2017 to provide clear, dependable and hands-on support to regulated firms and other businesses facing increasingly complex compliance obligations.

My experience covers FCA regulation, Consumer Duty, SM&CR, conduct risk, compliance monitoring, governance, complaints, AML and financial crime controls, regulatory reporting, risk management and remediation programmes. I also provide specialist support in UK GDPR and data protection compliance, including governance frameworks, DPIAs, data rights, privacy risk and accountability arrangements, together with wider business compliance support in areas such as health and safety.

Alongside these services, I am also a qualified Transport Manager holding the Operator CPC for Road Haulage and provide External Transport Manager and road transport compliance services to goods vehicle operators. This includes practical support with Operator Licence compliance, transport governance, vehicle maintenance systems, driver compliance, drivers’ hours and working time, record keeping, defect reporting, compliance monitoring and the systems and controls expected of professionally managed road haulage operations.

My career has included senior roles as a Group Data Protection Manager, Compliance and Risk Manager, Head of Compliance, and Head of Regulatory Compliance and Risk, giving me experience at both strategic and operational levels. I have advised boards and senior leaders, developed compliance and risk frameworks, reviewed customer journeys, investigated complaints, assessed regulatory and operational risks, developed policies and procedures, and helped businesses embed effective controls into their day-to-day operations. I have worked across a broad range of regulated activities and business models, including secured and unsecured lending, debt recovery, insolvency, insurance distribution, contract hire and FinTech, giving me a strong understanding of both regulatory expectations and the commercial realities businesses face.

I hold qualifications in law and business management, together with advanced data protection, cybersecurity, management and financial-services compliance certifications, as well as the Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence for Road Haulage. These qualifications complement the practical experience I have gained from more than two decades working in regulated, compliance-led and complex business environments.
